Across the Caribbean, energy typically costs between $0.25US and $0.38US per kWh (kiloWatt hour), rates among the highest in the world, even though trade winds and abundant sunshine provide ideal conditions for renewable "green" energy.
Each 5-acre Solamon power plant, or Apollo Acre™, is a fully integrated system that can supply locally-produced power to 100 homes, adjacent facilities or nearby institutions. The system is modular and increases in size by 5-acre increments.
Historically, the two largest obstacles to the implementation of solar energy have been cloud and storage. Our system can be operated as stand-alone, or directly linked into the local power grid. An integrated system negates the need for storage.
Micro wind systems are available with our systems to take into account cloud cover and noctural activity when trade winds blow heavy.
Solamon researches, designs and installs (customized per location) solar arrays of ground-mounted photovoltaic cells connected by cable to each other and to converters, batteries and transmission points, providing electricity directly or into the power grid
